We love this elegant wedding that brings a touch of southern to the SteamPlant Event Center!

After a traditional wedding ceremony at Salida United Methodist Church, the new couple climbed into a pedi-cab for a quick ride to the SteamPlant Event Center.  Is there a better place for a former river guide to get married than downtown Salida, Colorado?

Using hues of blue and white, the couple created a timelessly elegant reception at the SteamPlant on the banks of the Arkansas River. The two-hundred and twenty guests that gathered to fete the couple were treated to Louisiana-inspired cuisine, including jambalaya, gumbo, fresh vegetables and brisket.

Forgoing the traditional guest book, the couple requested their friends and family sign a wooden river paddle, which now hangs in their downtown Salida home. After drinks and dinner, the Bill McKay band spent the remainder of the evening playing zydaco music.
