This collection of photos from Ashley and David’s fall wedding exudes love. It is impossible to look at these images and not feel joy on your heart about their special SteamPlant day. Molly, owner of Cedar House Photography, does an excellent job of capturing the emotions of the couple, the beauty of our century-old brick ballroom and the uniqueness of Salida. Michelle from Kalamatapit Catering provided the food. Enjoy!
Above, Ashley, David and their party of pooches share a smooch outside the SteamPlant. All of our ceremonies are dog friendly. Below, the renovated 1887 steam power plant retains its architectural beauty while exuding a chic atmosphere. It’s stylish, industrial character provides an urban alternative to a standard Colorado mountain wedding setting. We are the antithesis of western lodge design.

Above, downtown Salida, where the SteamPlant is located, is a photographer’s dream. Historic, hand-painted advertisements grace the sides of many of our downtown buildings, allowing for unique wedding portrait backdrops. Below, the couple share an intimate moment in our Riverside Annex before joining their guests.
Below, the new couple shares a first dance, dinner, drinks and dancing with their guests in the SteamPlant Ballroom. Its century-old, exposed brick walls, natural hardwood floors and 30-foot ceilings provide the perfect backdrop for a night of celebration. Our ballroom seats up to 220 guests, has full banquet facilities and overlooks a picturesque outdoor cobblestone plaza and the Arkansas River. On warm evenings, many wedding receptions extend onto the plaza for drinks, dining and dancing under a canopy of stars.
