We love this elegant wedding that brings a touch of southern to the SteamPlant Event Center.
After a traditional wedding ceremony at Salida United Methodist Church, the new couple climbed into a pedi-cab for a quick ride to the SteamPlant Event Center. Is there a better place for a former river guide to get married than downtown Salida, Colorado?
Using hues of blue and white, the couple created a timelessly elegant reception at the SteamPlant on the banks of the Arkansas River. The two-hundred and twenty guests that gathered to fete the couple were treated to Louisiana-inspired cuisine, including jambalaya, gumbo, fresh vegetables and brisket.
Forgoing the traditional guest book, the couple requested their friends and family sign a wooden river paddle, which now hangs in their downtown Salida home. After drinks and dinner, the Bill McKay band spent the remainder of the evening playing zydaco music. The following pictures are courtesy of Cedar House Photography.
